bob martin flea bombs -would you use it?

My dogs have fleas. The only place with carpet is my bedroom. Where yhe dogs sleep

After frontline failure i have forked out a further £47 on advocate.

Was chatting to the guy in the pet shop and he said about the fumigating bombs. Pretty much a smoke pellet that will fumigate the room.

Now my dogs very graciously allow me and dp to sleep in the bedroom.

Its bob martins - would you chance it?? More worried about the dogs really - jrts

Have you used the sprays recommended by the vets? I've not had recurrence after those.

Call your local council pest control. Mine did the whole house for £40 with super strong chemicals which you can't buy. Totally worth it.

Turkey i only really have only room which is a problem.

I tend to use indorex although the frontline usually covers but has now stopped working i just preferred the idea of the bomb than spraying my bed with indorex -which is probably not recommended

You will not only have one room with a problem if you do have a flea infestation.

Yep, pest control man sprayed bathrooms and kitchen too. Fleas like the cracks in floor boards more than carpets he said. Bob Martin spray was useless, controlled chemicals are the only effective thing.

I wouldn't put it ON my animals no. But in the house? Ah no. Im just going to buy some indorex. Advocate kills the larvae but not pupae - more research needed methinks

Nothing short of a nuclear bomb kills pupae. The flea bombs, foggers etc are rubbish. I'm afraid you won't have a problem in one room only, you need to treat your entire house and the car. Any of the sprays with permethrin and an insect growth regulator is fine and they are non-prescription ( indorex, acclaim, rip flea, nuvan staykill - all the same thing)
You need to make as many fleas hatch from their pupae as possible, so one room at a time, heating on, bowl of water on radiator to increase humidity, vacuum first, then spray, concentrating round the skirting boards and under heavy furniture that isn't regularly vacuumed. wash all bedding on a hot wash, you don't need to spray the mattress.
Keep treating the pets monthly and allow them to access the whole house so any pupae you miss hatch, jump onto passing pet and are killed.

I feel your pain. I am procrastinating Indorexing my house this morning after a blooming aggressive dog jumped on my pup and gave him fleas. We haven't had fleas at all since the early 90s so I'd let my preventative routine lapse.

Fortunately my dogs aren't allowed upstairs, so it's just the ground floor that needs doing. I'm half way through the living room at the moment and have come in the kitchen to give it time to dry out a little before shifting all the furniture on the other side of the room ... then I have have the kitchen to do. Quarry tiled floor, but really old with lots of gaps around the skirtings and pits in the grout.

Oh - and I am telling myself it's not such a bad thing, after reading that Indorex gets rid of everything, including spiders. Not sure it's true, but I really hope so, given the size of some of the spiders we've had in over the past couple of weeks.

Stares fiercely at thread!! No killing spiders with indorex. Spiders good. Fleas bad and very satisfying to pop when you get a live one.

I am really poorly with a cold this week and so so busy. Next week is operation nuke the fuckers.

I didn't use to mind spiders at all, but both dh and I have been bitten this year and it's made me a little paranoid - not least of all because they seem to be of monster proportions this year (really big, thick-legged, hairy ones with extra long legs).

I do rescue them and put them outside if I see them and wouldn't deliberately spray them with insecticide, but would really rather they kept themselves to themselves in the loft and chimneys, rather than sprinting across my living room floor and scaring the you know what out of me while I'm mnetting busy.

Going to probably get the man in. (Wonders if they have something that spares spiders - i have several "pets" that have been around for years. I clean around their houses -tube webs)

I've found four dead spiders since indorexing my house. I didn't use it for that purpose but it appears to do that.
I read the indorex website and it says fleas don't tend to live in human bedding as there's no where for them to burrow into or live in. You can spray your bedding if you wish but you're better off just washing it on a high temperature. They live on the floor more than in beds.
I didn't spray the spiders with it but think they've become a casualty of the treatment of the house.

And I would never use anything with Bob Martins name on.

All the spiders in our house are probably going to camp out in my bedroom now they can't come downstairs anymore!

I had a pet (Boris) at our old house that I used to protect from the dogs and I even became quite fond of the wolf spider that spread his web across my front window - but both of us getting bitten has made me really nervous around them these days.

I was reading this afternoon that some people use indorex for dust mite control, in which case I'd assume they use it on their mattresses.

I used it on ours as the cat sleeps on the bed. Never had any issue as once aired you'd never know I'd used the stuffm

Indorex is great.

I stopped using frontline a couple of years ago - all the fleas seemed to have developed immunity to it.

I used a flea digger i got from the range and some spray-seems to have worked, for now at least.will re treat In a few weeks or so...

Flea fogger! I don't know what a flea digger is.
