Punter lab is nibbling away at his coat and legs and I have some bites on my arms. Although he had his monthly dose of advocate a few days ago. Is it safe to give him another dose?

If he's been treated with Advocate you don't need to retreat. The fleas will be living in the environment and jump onto your dog, then die after biting him.

Advocate is good for treating/preventing the fleas that are on the dog, but they don't actually live on the animal, they live in your carpets and soft furnishings and wake to jump on board and have a feed whenever they feel vibration. You need to thoroughly deep clean your house too, using something like Indorex (you can buy this online at places like VetUK) which will kill the fleas at all stages of their life-cycle.

If you don't treat the house, but your dog is treated, unfortunately you will end up being the one that gets bitten.
