We got our pup 10 days ago. He's settled well and is clean and dry most nights. The problem is that he prefers to wee indoors. We can't seem to get the opportunity to praise him for going outside. He's cracked pooping outside. For example, first wee in the morning. I wake up 630, make a coffee, let him out of the crate, give him a cuddle and go straight outside. I can be outside for up to an hour before I give up and come in to see to the kids. He comes straight in and wees on the floor. It's not in the same spot. We are using diluted biological washing powder to clean up. Am getting disheartened as there is no progress. Any tips? We don't scold him for weeping inside.
I've tried bringing him in and putting him on my knee when he doesn't wee but he's big for that!!
Would appreciate any advice

Stay out there until he does - and be prepared to grab him and plonk him outside the minute he squats down - it's easy to spot.

What are you doing outside? Hanging about or making sure he keeps moving?

It's taking hours. Having more successes when out on walks. That doesn't make him house trained though does it? He seems to hold on until he comes in and he has a bladder of steel.

Hello!

There is a great article you can find here on potty training puppies

www.trainmyhound.com/toilet-training-dogs/

There is also a great book here about puppy training "The experts guide to Puppy Training". It is only $0.99 on amazon.

My friend wrote it so if you like it please leave a review!

Best of luck!
