i found a lovely little dog today.

She darted across a very busy main road with me stood like this so I went to see her and she had a tag on but the phone number wouldnt work. I had my work lanyard so clipped that on her collar as a makeshift lead and we walked round for a bit to see if I could find her owner but no luck. (she did a poo luckily I had poo bags in my pocket) I then let her lead me to see if she could tell me where she came from but she led me a merry dnce for an hour. I decided to take her to the vet to get her scanned fo a chip but she wouldnt walk so we went in the car. Luckily she was chipped and her owners were found. I have spoken to the vet to check on her and she is now safely home. We had a lovely little adventure did rosie and me I was a little sad when I left her at the vet. So at the end of the day I dont have any more dogs than I did at the start which is lucky as dh would have killed me but I wasnt leaving her anywhere till her owner was found.
So quick reminder make sure your tags are up to date and your dog is chipped.

have they been in touch to say thank you -even via the vet if they don't have your details, it could've ended so differently

dd and i were trying to catch a dog a couple of years back, fairly busy road, he was zig-zagging in and out of traffic and eventually headed up a private road . so at least he was out of danger and looked like he knew where he was going.
several cars stopped but one woman blasted her horn and demanded i move. i told her to feck off be patient

Shouldn't the address be on the tag as well?

I'm a bit nuts about making sure my dog always has her collar and tag on just in case, even though of course she's chipped.

As MiddletonPink said, lucky you were there or that might not have had such a happy ending.
