The others haven't arrived yet. and you're quite safe. You're not irresponsibly breeding your dog or training it with methods that are all based on the dominance/pack theory.

I haven't got a dog. I grew up partly in another country, where dogs roomed free and never came in the house. I loved the little mongrel dogs we had there. I couldn't ever have a dog cooped up in our small house, it would seem awfully cruel.

Nope, you can't be flamed for not having a dog. Although they are quite liked in this section, and having one would enhance your life Each to their own!

Nope, I wouldn't flame you for that either. Love mongrels and also spent a lot of my childhood in a place where dogs lived mostly outside, so can understand your point of view.

I rationalise it to myself by having rescue dogs that would most likely have a much worse life if they if they weren't adopted and brought into a loving home. Plus I have a breed that is the ultimate couch potato and objects to anything less than supersoft beds and nice warm central heating!

Bother, I've had wine and am now mourning my little dogs. Even the dozy one that befriended the burglars.
