Hibiscrub on skin thing

Terrierterror · 04/09/2014 07:39

The vet gave me some hibiscrub decanted into a little pot. It says dilute 1 to 20. Once I've used this on his skin do I need to wash it off with fresh water or do I just pat it dry as is?

Thank you.

No don't rinse .

I disagree I always advising rinsing as for so many chlorhexidine left on the skin can be an irritant. If you have scrubbed vigorously removing all scabs there is no benefit to leaving it on the skin.
After all when we use it to scrub for surgery we always thoroughly rinse it off.

Thank you.

I have worked the diluted mixture into the skin and then rinsed. I have to do it twice a day. The scab is gradually going and it doesn't seem to be causing him any discomfort.
