How many times a day should you feed a golden retriever puppy?

DH is feeding twice a day, but I thought I read it should be 3 times a day till 6 months.
Is this a problem.

My golden says about 6-8 times would be good for her

I fed 3 meals until around 5 months when she was a pup.

4 times till about 4 months, 3 till about 6 and then 2...I think that's pretty standard isn't it?
