What kind of dog was this?

Spotted in a London playground today. Spaniel, reddy gold, looked a bit like a cocker but smaller and pointier than any cocker I've seen. Almost looked like what you'd get if you bred a golden cocker with a fox. What was it? I am in love! (And if you were in Avondale park in London I was the one maniacally patting your dog and coveting it)

Working cocker? They're finer than show bred cockers.

I'd say the other way round; working cockers have broader heads than show cockers .

It was a spaniel, but way too small to be any kind of cocker - was probably half the size of a standard English show cocker. And such a beautiful coat - have not seen on a cocker. Mystery!

King Charles ... can be red, apparently (although I've never seen one).
Look here

Definitely not a King Charles - it had a long snout

Maybe it was just a really small cocker? Hmm

American cocker? Not sure they have what could be considered a 'long snout' though. Smaller than a cocker and lots of coat though, and come in red.

Could it potentially have been a cross? Cav crosses seem to be very popular at the moment.

Maybe it was a mongrel :)

I had a tiny red cocker, so could just be on the small side?
