I have just received an email congratulating The SnapDragon on reaching sixteen weeks of age and advising me that now is the time to start taking her out and about Hmm
We are to start short walks and incorporate different situations in order to socialise her effectively. It is important that we take things slowly but steadily so as not to overload her but equally not allow her to grow up to be a fearful adult fat chance
The sender of this gloriously informative missive? PetPlan Hmm

Socialisation should be done before 16 wks, that's when the window closes.

lil I was genuinely gobsmacked to receive it and from a company that many would consider to be an authority on such things.
All my pups over the years have been out from 8 weeks, cosily tucked away in jackets or jumpers and have grown up to be happy and well adjusted. Those that have arrived later have been markedly less confident in certain situations as a result.
The idea of shackling the SnapDragon up today and taking her outside the house for the first time makes me feel faintly queasy Hmm

Mine was out in jumpers/coats etc like yours from about 7wks. Then once full inoculations were done at 10wks there was no stopping us, he went everywhere with us. Hes now 6 and really well adjusted, nothing phases him.
