Dpup is limping :(

Dpup was charging around in the park with ds1 on Thursday evening when he suddenly pulled up short, lay down and started licking his paw. I checked his paw and leg and couldn't see any obvious injury but when he got back up again he was limping. We went straight home and he went to bed and the next morning seemed much better - we just had one little walk with no ball throwing

Yesterday he seemed fine when he was running but straight afterwards started limping again - he's not in any obvious pain - doesn't complain when it's touched anywhere but it's clearly not right. When he's standing his paw seems to be turned out more than normal

Trouble is we're on holiday this week so nowhere near our usual vet and tbh it's going to be extremely tricky to get him to rest

I'm just worried it's going to get worse :(

He has probably torn something, then re-injuring it. I am not a vet, but would in your case, keep him on lead and not walk him too much......

Our dog did a similar thing at a year and had to do a month of on lead only, starting at 5 mins a time....that maybe a little extreme, but on lead should stop the hooning.

Thanks mrslaughan - I've been keeping him on the lead as much as possible and only doing short walks but let him have a swim in the sea yesterday with dd which he loved

He's only just 1 do hooning is his default mode

Agree with Mrs L - but swimming non weight bearing and tiring so hope he can get more of that!

Swimming is great - its how we kept our dog sane, when he was on just short lead walks.
