Puppy food?

Dh pointed out that I have bought some wainwright dog food that is junior and not puppy - so from six months.

Our lab pup is 15 weeks now...ok to just let him have it or will it cause him long term damage!?!? Guessing that labs have a pretty robust constitution but really don't want to be irresponsible.

He'll be absolutely fine, chances are there's little to no difference between the foods anyway.

puppy food, I believe, has more/better protiens and fats for the fast growth they do as a young puppy. its probably minimal but without knowing all the in and outs of wainwrights foods I would buy food suitable for pup and keep the junior until older.

I can't find the Wainwrights Junior on the PaH website but even comparing the puppy and adult versions of the same flavour (lamb in this case) there's very little difference in the meat content.

The adult food has 28% lamb, the puppy 29%. The puppy food is higher in protein (30% compared to 23%) but all the difference is from extra barley and potato in the puppy food and not actual meat protein. Puppies need good quality protein, not just extra fillers to bump the numbers up.

Maybe entirely coincidental but he had a slightly upset tum so went a got some more nature direct (I think it is) puppy food today.

Given the level of crap he manages to eat (leaves, snails, anything plastic!) I do find it funny that his food can make that much difference. However, I want to make sure we give him the right stuff to develop!
