My one year old dog has jumped up and caught my 5 year old grandson on his face And has knocked him over causing him to have to go to hospital for treatment can anyone help me x

you need to teach the dog not to jump. What actually happened.
It doesn't sound like a rehoming issue so far, unless theres more to it?

Was the dog being aggressive? It's hard to tell from your post.
Does your grandson live with you?
If he's a visitor could you make sure that he and the dog are separated when he's there?

Has something else happened to cause you to want to rehome? Seems a bit ott. Why can't you manage their interactions and teach the dog not to jump up?

What sort of dog? Seems a bit of an extreme reaction to him jumping up. Better supervision rather than rehoming. And training.

Agree with other posters. This is a training and management issue and not justification for a re home when there are literally thousands of dogs being killed each year for want of a home. Adolescent dogs need consistent training. Not to be left with kids without being taught how to behave around them. I'm sorry your grandson is hurt but this is on you not the dog. Take responsibility.

Normal behaviour for dogs to jump up, they need to be trained out of it. Even if they're trained they shouldn't be left unsupervised with young children.

OP you need to explain more. How did he catch your grandson on the face - with a claw, or his mouth? What were the circumstances? When he knocked him over, was this the same incident, or a separate thing from the face? What were the circumstances?

From your post it isn't clear whether this dog has shown aggression (and if so, why), or whether it is simply boisterous. Either way it is probably possible to resolve the issue if that's what you would like to do - rehoming is rarely essential. If you can give us more information we will be able to help you better :)
