Quick question about puppies, carrying them and peeing!

It's a long time since I had a pup and I can't remember!! Obviously, pup can't go down outside for a couple of weeks so I'll be carrying him when walking my other dog. I'm sometimes out an hour or so - what happens if he needs to pee?? I can't put him on the grass on the park and I don't want to get wet lol

Is it just inevitable that I'll be soaked in puppy pee for the next few weeks?

Never occurred to me that my lab might need to pee when he was carried about, just as well as would have been another thing to worry about Smile. We'd be out for an hour or so when he was 10 weeks old and he was fine.

Guide dogs recommend that their pups are put down to toilet in areas unlikely to have massive volumes of dog traffic, like in the middle of a car park etc.

Thank you, I'll try that if I think he needs to go :)

We carried dpup from 8 weeks to 13 weeks and never once got peed on - his breeder had trained the pups to wee on grass so as far as he was concerned that rant our garden or nothing - even after we could take him for a walk under his own steam it took him about a month to accept that any grass would do - at first he'd just cross his legs all the way home, run out into the garden and do a massive wee Grin

Meant not rant, obviously ... Blush

Well mines been here since 10am and has so far not done a pee or a poo! Taken him outside very regularly but all he wants to do is lay on my feet! He's had some food and is in his crate now with a Kong. Hoping he has a little nap and I'll take him straight out afterwards.
