Second greyhound?

We have an adorable, spoilt, beautiful diva of a greyhound who has settled in to our home as if she's always been here.

We both work full time, but have a walker who comes in every day to look after her.

We regularly go back to the rescue centre we got her from to walk to dogs and help out, and they're trying to get us to take a male dog to keep her company.

In kennels they're used to being paired up, and we have room for another dog.

So I suppose what I'm asking is, is this a good idea?

You know you want to…. Grin[enables]

Greyhounds love having company.
If you can find one that she gets on with well and can afford the upkeep of another - why not?

I am yearning for a greyhound and live vicariously through posts like yours, so thanks Smile

I definitely want to, she's not helping by being grumpy with all the males we walk with her. There's a gorgeous boy come in to the rescue centre this week who is the same age, similar colour, potentially her brother, so we'll see how that goes Grin

Yes get oneGrin

Sorry, I'm in almost exactly the same position as you. Our girl has been a dream since we got her in November and I really want a boy one as she is really social and loves the company of other dogs. I've got to wait till September at least when my working hours are finalised (I'm part time already but going even more part time).

So I vote that you get another one first and then I can watch how it pans out and follow suit!

On a practical note, do you have doggy care that are willing to look after two hounds if needed?

The thought of two of them sleeping, snoring and farting in my bedroom puts me off a little....but not that muchWink

Go for it! I'm in the same boat and would have another in a heartbeat, just need to persuade DH around to my way of thinking!

My two love each other and would be very sad to be without each other. They do argue over the beds though!! We sometimes come down in the morning and dog1 has all 4 dog-beds stacked on top of each other and dog2 is lying sadly on the doormat. Grin

We did it Grin we now have a handsome dog called Jack who is currently being shown the ropes by our gorgeous princess SmileSmileSmileSmile
