Either you aren't shutting it properly or you have a very clever pooch!

Have you supervised you pup in the crate and got them used to it gradually? If properly crate trained they shouldn't be trying to escape.

Our 5 month old collie managed to get out of his crate by forcing the end past the clips then wiggling it until there was a gap he could force his way through.
Too bloody clever

Our JRT used to be able to get out of the crate (the mastiff who used the same crate as a puppy never did) so we had to use extra clips. DH got them, I think they might be called D Clips.

The point of using a crate is that it's a sanctuary, not a prison. The dog should be happy there. If your dog is trying to escape then it's bored lonely or distressed - why are you crating it?

My dog gets out of the crate, I watched him do it a few days ago, he used his nose and paws to open it Grin, we use the crate to protect our home when we go out ( usually just when I do the school run or pop to the shops ), it's for his own safety really as he chews through wires, he will sleep in the crate in the evenings through choice, loves his crate when the doors open but doesn't like being shut in.
