How do you find Agility classes?

It's something I think Eric would like and I'd like to re channel his ability to jump on tables and climb on window sills into something a bit less annoying tbh. He can already weave at speed and he's up and down dd's slide in no time at all, I'm assuming it's the poodle in him that makes him so agile as his shih tzu mum was a docile, placid little thing.

Thank you have found something local now and so will email. Eric's only a puppy (although he doesn't seem to realise this) is it ok to start young? He seems to use the house and garden as his personal assault course and he sees every windowsill and surface as fair game which is ironic as the reason I never wanted a cat was because of them walking on the work surfaces )

I think most places want them to be at least 1 ,although it may be less important with small dogs . I have an agility set in my garden for my boy as we only do it for fun.

Most places say at least one with basic obedience but there are some younger dogs at my group, but we do low level agility atm as we have not been doing it long. Ring up and ask

Basic obedience well he is very obedient when I'm there and I have treats, he seems to enjoy the challenge of doing everything I don't allow when my back is turned though. So he's quite happy to be left for up to 90 minutes and he doesn't make a mess but he will be sat on the window sill (grinning) when I get back and so he has walked the back of the sofa and the the unit and occasional table to get there.

We offer a special puppy agility class where I work for those under one tailored to youngsters

Full agility with proper jumps and weaves is not recommended until then as growing joints need protecting from excessive leaping and twisting

He does all the jumping and weaving unprompted in fact the jumping on tables he does because he knows I don't allow it and the weaving through table and chair legs is usually because he's stolen a sock or a shoe and he thinks we'll take it off of him so is dodging us.
I'm going to ring and ask if there are any puppy agility classes in this area seeing as it's not unheard of. whoknows.

Some clubs offer a puppy or pre-agility class that will introduce you to the methods and techniques used, as well as the focus/drive/obedience required, without using full sized equipment.
