Grooming Question

After finding recommendations for a groomer for Eric I phoned last week and he has his first appointment tomorrow. Because he is less than 6 months he won't be clipped just bathed and brushed (I never knew this was a recommendation tbh) and really he is going more for him to get used to the experience rather than him desperately needing a bath.Hoping then when he goes to be clipped it will be less of an ordeal for him if he's been a couple of times before
But the poor boy hasn't been left anywhere before (although he's happy to be left at home for 90 minutes) and I expect he will cry loudly. Is there anything I could do to help? Maybe take his toy or his bed? Any suggestions please?

Well Eric has been to be bathed and brushed, he looks and smells gorgeous. They said he had been very good, he's exhausted though so fast asleep now, we'll take him again in about six weeks I think. He was absolutely delighted to see us when we picked him up, I imagine he thought we'd abandoned him, poor boy.
