Has anyone got a Pets as Therapy dog?

Dpup is only 8 months but is very calm and friendly and attracts a lot of attention as he's an unusual breed (and gorgeous!)

I was thinking about getting him assessed as a PAT dog - does anyone here have a PAT dog and what do I need to know?

I know of a dog that is one and I really think it's a great idea, this one goes into an sld/pmld special school.

Why don't you ring them and ask? I am sure they will be helpful :)

It is good that your dog is young as you can train the correct behaviours early - no paw shaking, calm around food etc. The dogs can visit very vulnerable and fragile people so need to be calm in all situations.

We love doing it (but it is quite a commitment)
