Breakfast

what do you give? puppy 7 months old, Weimaraner, she not really interested in dried food even mixed with sardines for breakfast, was thinking of something more calcium based? any ideas?

I give my 8 month old retriever scrambled egg, made without milk sometimes a little tuna, sometimes a bit of toast and occasionally a few shreddies and rice krispies. I put this on top of her dried food.
To be honest she mainly leaves it, she is not really a breakfast person.

I mix feed so my dog has his raw chicken in the morning and then has his kibble for tea ,he loves it .

why calcium based?

just thinking about bone building,

Don't think dogs can digest milk (something to do with lactose?) so get gas and loose poos with it.

Maybe a tiny amount of live natural yogurt which has less lactose

Just whisk a couple eggs together and microwave for around 2 mins

If they are raw fed they will get all the nutrients they require - try nutriment a balanced raw food.

A balanced diet should not need adding in more than one mineral or vitamin and this can do more harm than good.

Dogs do not have the enzyme that is needed to break down the sugar in cows milk so milk can cause digestive issues for some dogs,

Breeder recommended Royal canin and she is happy with eating that on an evening, but not really interested on a morning, but I would get bored of the same thing day in day out, will try eggs as she has eaten them before first, thanks

Thats why raw is so good - a different meal every day

Royal canin is not a great food
here may help you find a food she prefers

Thank you that is really helpful she seems happy and healthy but just not interested in food tends to pick at bits, just want to do what's best for her.

Mine has weetabix with a splash of warm water and sometimes with a bit of egg or fish on top.
