Have decided its time for a friend for Merlin

Merlin will be 2 in a couple of months and is now a really calm and well mannered dog. He has been neutered which helped a lot. Anyway I decided that I want to add another cocker to our family. I plan on contacting the breeders now before there are are puppies to tempt me. I love merlins breeder and am still in contact with her but she has just had another litter so wont have anymore puppies.

I've already started buying her bits and pieces. Oh and hopefully she will be a little black girl. Her name will be poppy.

Oh, our first dog was a springer called Merlin.

We've got an eight year old cocker called Wallace, and the very newest addition is cockapoo Jenson, who is not quite three months old, yet the cleverest pup I have ever had, very trainable.

I have two cockers. They are working type, very different temperament but get on well. I have been a dog person all my life, have trained and worked search dogs and worked in rescue.
These two together have nearly driven me to breaking point
We're at the stage now where small walks across the fields are taken individually, longer walks (alternating on lead time initially) and quick toilet breaks together. Their behaviour in the house is fine, play can be quite boisterous but is easily controllable. Outside though they are like creatures possessed. It struck me recently that I have actually taken to viewing the day to day walks as a chore due to the constant vigilance needed to keep them under control. It's like the pent up enthusiasm in one cocker is controllable, add another and it just explodes into a frothing mass of course that might just be my two
