Help with pet insurance

The pet insurance for my dog is due for renewal and I am shopping around as premium has gone up.
After having got the renewal letter my dog needed vet treatment and I have submitted a claim to insurance company which is being processed but will not be completed until after renewal date.
So I am wondering if I tell the current insurers that I am not renewing will that in any way affect my claim and/or future policies with another company?

Any advice would be great.

Sorry no idea if not renewing would affect your claim or not.

Is the treatment your dog recieved for something that is likely to reoccur? Because if you don't have life cover and/or change to another insurer your dog will not be covered in the future.

As long as it was submitted before the policy finishes it's still covered.

What you've claimed for already is now a pre-existing condition though and will not be covered by any other company if it happens again, or if something happens that they deem to be part of the same thing. (which covers quite a lot)

Thanks.
Treatment was for his Jew claw so no re occurrence on that leg anyway.
