Male Dogs

I'm curious to know if anyone else has a problem with neutured male dogs not liking entire male dogs.
I had mine neutured at 1yr, before this he was often "told off" by other males. Since being neutured he does the telling off.(He's now nearly 6)
He'll go over and greet being all friendly, sniff and then go very still before being very vocal/grizzly.
The vets never worn or say anything about this and have made out it's just my dog. However i'm not so sure.....have we messed about with nature and caused a problem?
What are your thoughts?

One of our dogs was far worse off before he was neutered. They smell different.

Sometimes yes.......I have an entire male, he is 20months old giant breed, sometimes I have trouble with neutered males, and twice with un-nuetered males. TBh - yes they smell diff (Apparently), but I think it may have more to do with socialisation.....if they haven't been around entire males, they smell diff, and they are generally weary of dogs they don't know, then you may get a reaction.

I do my best to socialise, socialise socialise mine with the whole array of "sexes" except of course bitches in season....he doesn't need to be anywhere near them.

He is used to entire males as he lives with one that is 5yrs old. Once he gets to know entire males he is fine,it's the ones he doesn't know.
He is really well socialised, done puppy classes etc etc.
Can't brake him from this though.....

My lovely calm inoffensive lab used to be regularly growled at, humped and generally hassled by neutered dogs. He was castrated at 2.5 yrs. No problems once he was done.
