Chain collar that is not a choke chain

Or a collar that is not chewable?! I have a Houdini dog that gets out of his collar and then he or the pup chews it.

I don't want a chain collar to use or to be thought as of using as a choke chain. He has a harness to walk on. But is that they only type of chain collar?

I bow to the greater knowledge of you all. I feel he needs a collar with his tag on just in case he gets out. He is microchipped but the tag has our number on. Am I just being silly?

Afraid I can't help on unchewable ones but you are not being silly about the tag. For one it's the law that he wears one with your name and address on, but more importantly you will get your dog back a lot quicker if someone can read a tag rather than hoping he ends up with someone who will go the trouble of taking him to somewhere he can be scanned.

Thanks spicy, that's is true with the tag, it has everything on it that's needed, just minus the dog at the moment!

If I got a chain collar, do you think people would assume we use it as a choke chain? Even if he is walked on a harness?

Don't get him a chain collar, they can get caught on stuff and damage teeth. Get him a properly fitting collar, or let him go naked in the house and don't give him the opportunity for him to escape.
