Dog infected paw

My dog has an infected back paw, it is swollen over two toes on the top rather than the pads. It is clearly bothering him as he keeps licking it.

I have taken him to the vet and he's had four days of antibiotics with three left to go but it is still quite swollen.

Is there anything else I can do to help heal it? I am washing it when we come in from a walk, I have tried a bandage but he just pulled it off so he could lick it! Anything else I can try?

Thanks.

Boiled cool water and salt four times a day, or manuka honey if he will leave a dressing alone.

Try him with something like vetwrap or other cohesive bandage to cover the dressing - it's available on ebay for not too much money.

Also try really hard to stop him licking it. It really won't be helping it heal.

Thank you I'll try bathing it today - do I rinse the salt water off in case he licks it again?

Stop him licking it - that's probably why it's not healing.
