Getting a new dog from rescue!

Picking up our new rescue dog at the weekend, any hints or tips to help him settle in?
We already have a 2.5 yr old lab and they seem to get on well so far, just feeling a bit nervous about it now.

Good luck . Hope it goes well , I am sure you will have ups and downs while he settles In but it will all be worth it .
what breed is he ?

He's a real mix!, some ridgeback, maybe rottie, possibly a bit of pointer! He seems lovely and friendly and affectionate, bit more boisterous than our very laid back lab. I really want it to work but having a bit of a confidence crisis (thanks mother!) anyone recommend good training book/ website?

I am sure with love and attention he will be a great dog .
sorry not sure on dog training but I am reading Perfect puppy on my kindle which helps me understand a dogs mind .
Just need our pefect puppy to read it as well :)
He sounds like a geat mix of dogs all rolled into one .

wonder what his parents were .

I shouldn't panic too much things could go fab and if not I am sure with the love and guiding from you he will be a great addition to your house :)
