I am looking at getting a small to medium sized dog as a companion for our Choc Lab. They look really sweet. Have heard that they are difficult to house train? Any opinions and advice welcome x

I know one who has broken its legs 3 times and all from jumping off the sofa and landing funny. Cute dogs but very easily broken!

They are beautiful dogs, but would be in serious danger of injury if playing with a Lab. They're very finely boned and prone to leg fractures, as VetNurse mentioned.

They feel the cold badly, due to having a very fine coat and extremely low body fat, so need coats for both indoors and out.

They can also be very 'princessy', although that could be down to the way a lot of owners handle them.

A Whippet or Whippet-Lurcher would be a great alternative, far more robust, full of personality and fun and not as likely to break. Wink

Thank you I did see it mentioned that they shouldn't be homed with larger dogs. Many thanks for the advice
