People saying I won't have time for dog

Was just seeing if there's some dog walkers on here that still manage to take there's out for a good run off lead with a baby. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant but some people are already saying 'you won't have time for that'!!! It's driving me mad. I know life will be completely different, but when I'm out I see people with prams and there dogs having a run in the fields. My dog means so much to me and she'll still need exercise. Sorry rant over! Any advice would be much appreciated :) thank you

Be thankful it's just people saying you won't have time, I got told my dog would eat the baby! (Have a few threads about it). Happily DD is now 5 months and has huge smiles for the dog and he lies in front of her swing chair even when it's hitting him in the head!

Exercise was a bit of an issue at first. I had a few health issues after the birth and the first time I tried walking the dog (had left DD with DH) I almost fainted. So BIL got roped in to help with walking. Unfortunately whatever BIL did it left DDog pulling a lot. If you can have your dog off lead then that's perfect - mine would be found jumping on the closest person so has to be on lead.

Some people have such miserable attitudes, honestly....I do get it that some people have a dog or cat as a surrogate baby, and when the baby comes the pets get left by the wayside but this I believe is a problem to do with selfishness rather than owning pets....

My dog is a huge joy for me and great comfort when I had a miscarriage. He is very gentle with babies, a little apprehensive about older toddlers but would certainly not eat a baby.... I like kids growing up with pets just as I did. I adored our dog and could not imagine my childhood without pets.

The only thing to say though is that I wouldn't probably manage without a garden to let the dogs out to do their biz. There are some days when pregnant/with a new baby where it will be near impossible to get out when the dog needs a wee.
