Sore after microchip and vaccinations

Puppy is 11 weeks and has had 2nd vaccinations. She is very unhappy and quite sleepy, but the bit I'm worried about is how uncomfortable and painful the microchip site is. She really cried when i picked her up very gently. Is this usual please?

This is my first dog and cats have always been chipped at their ops.

Neither of my dogs were particularly fussed after it was done. Perhaps the vet got a sensitive part or maybe pup is just a sensitive little soul. I'd see how they are in the morning and give vet a buzz if still really sore. Lots of cuddles tonight.

I got no reaction from mine either although they did say he may be sore. How little is your pup though? My vets didn't want to do mine when he way tiny as they said they didn't like to do small breeds too young because of pain. Give them a call in the morning if still a problem, even if just to put your mind at rest.

Thank you. She didn't make any fuss when it was done. Maybe she has a nasty bruise- it 's impossible to see in the black curly fur! She's a Cockapoo and weighs 4.5 kg.
She's settled in her crate quite happily now. Have had lovely cuddles all night- she doesn't usually stay still for more than half an hour.

Mine was a good couple of kilo bigger than that when he was done then. I'm sure she'll wake up fine in the morning Smile
