New Puppy Owners

We are soon to be blessed with a Collie bitch puppy. She will be coming to us in mid Feb.

Have read loads of books about Collie training and have booked puppy training classes for March.

DH is at home so she will have company all day, we have 3 kids (youngest is 9) at home - just a bit anxious abut how many/ what toys to get for her; what treats work best; how to manage accidents / house train effectively ....

any advice very gratefully received ...

I can recommend another fantastic book that will really help with all those questions. Life Skills for Puppies. It should be compulsory puppy owner reading imho. Grin

Head over to the New Puppy Mummies thread. The title is very tongue in cheek I promise. There are loads of us over there with puppies ranging from 8 weeks to 7/8 months old. You could also search for the first two threads, which have a lot more advice about the early days/weeks on them.

Don't wait until your pup arrives, come on over and ask all your questions on there now, you are very sensible for being so organised well in advance of her arrival.
