Hello. My dog had an operation a couple of months ago and as I wanted to make her as happy as possibly I gave her the new Bakers 'As Good As It Looks' food, with the blue plastic lid.

She loved it & I was so happy to have found it. However, unfortunately it gave her diarrhoea & bad wind so I've had to stop but she won't go back to eating her usual tins of Butchers food. I went to Aldi yesterday for the first time and bought a tin of Earls Super Chunks which she seemed to like. I've never heard of Earls before.
When I was in the pet shop the other day I mentioned to the owner the effect that the lovely new Bakers food had had and she said that it's very rich. So why do they make a dog food that's too rich ?

Any advice on the Earls food ? Thanks. She's a collie cross age 12.

Bakers is yuck. One of the WORST foods on the market, full of additives and rubbish, some of which is carcinogenic and banned in some countries, it's like feeding a child haribo for every meal, every day. It's addictive too. Some dogs have to be weaned off it.

Have a look here to compare foods Which Dog Food

The ones for mature dogs tend to be gentler on the stomach too.

Thanks, I hadn't realized that :)

If you want to feed tinned meat go for Chappie ,it smells revolting but is probably better than most and does agree with a lot of dogs being fairly bland.

The original variety of Chappie though Smile
