Kennel cough...

My border collie has been given anti inflams and anti biotics to treat kennel cough that my nans dog passed kindly on Sad

Is there anything non medical I can give him to stop him coughing enough to make him flem his poor guts up? He is totally ok in himself. If anything he's bouncing off the walls as we can't really exercise him as it makes the coughing worse!

Our vet recommended cough medicine for people for our dog. Benylyn (sp) in particular
When we went to the chemist the pharmacist said she had given it to her dog as well

I know someone who was told the same by the vet,he just said not to say that is what he recommended

Was also going to say Benylin.

oooh! I have tixylix in the cupboard... though I think that's more for chesty cough and ddogs is quite dry.. I will give him a syringe full now (I'll dose him the same as ds who is 2) and let you know how he goes.

Thank you all! I never thought of cough medicine Blush
