Hi, first post in the doghouse. After lots of discussions about size, temperament etc we've settled on an English springer, but they're £850 for a pup. I'm wondering if there's a breed we've missed that May be cheaper to buy?

WTF?? I paid £350 for mine. That was only 4.5 years ago.

As long as you can deal with mud think pig and lots of walks they are good. Mines a useless sniffer dog though. He lost two tennis balls the other day in long grass :)

I'm a twat, I meant to put welsh springer, we looked at the English springer, but the really long walks put us off

Now wondering whether to start another thread

I would Smile

Our Springer (English) was £450 last year.

A show Cocker would need less exercise than Springer or working Cocker, they are less expensive but 'in vogue' as Will and Kate have a black working type.
