Can anyone point me to anywhere that sells good quality, but ever so slightly pretty collars and leads Xmas Smile The dog has asked for a new set for Christmas.

Or should I just go for leather.... [pondering emoticon]

sebastianthesingingaubergine · 16/12/2013 16:25

Ooh thanks, some of them are lovely. Just found this too which has some gorgeous ones. Just need to make a decision! She's black so will suit all kinds of colours.

I like Orvis UK for dog stuff. They do personalised collars that I am currently battling with myself about (can't decide if its a good idea or not)

I've just bought a lovely velvet lead from Meggie Moo, and seen the collars she makes and they are fab and very well made

Dwerf · 16/12/2013 16:39

sebastianthesingingaubergine · 16/12/2013 16:54

Thankyou, I like all of the above. Now have to try not to buy a bandana too. I love a dog in a bandana!!

Milgi coats do a lovely bandanna. I just bought two yesterday

needastrongone · 16/12/2013 20:44

Wondering why I looked at this thread.... My dog doesn't need a collar......my dog doesn't need a collar.....Smile

moosemama · 16/12/2013 21:17

I love the collars on this website. Pip has the spins and twirls design (9th one on the page when you scroll down) in grey with chrome fittings and it's gorgeous. I plan to buy him a matching lead in the new year.

Needa, 'Oh yes he does ....' - well, it is panto season! Grin

CMOTDibbler · 16/12/2013 21:25

Ooh, those are pretty Moosemama. We have, um, 5 collars Blush. And I was resisting getting a christmas collar really well until I saw Scuttlebutters dogs in theirs and now am failing

Scuttlebutter · 16/12/2013 23:12

Give in to the collar porn..... Xmas Grin

another recommendation here for Meggie Moo - her collars and leads are really good quality, with excellent hardware - some collar firms have quite thin D rings etc - not Meggie. Her delivery times are very quick and her prices are excellent. If you have more time, 2 Hounds are also very good but not cheap - though I have leads and collars from them that are still looking brand new after 7 years, so you are investing in quality.

And of course I'd be delighted if you wanted a festive bandana.... Xmas Wink - Milgi Coats have an excellent range and you're not too late for posting guaranteed for pre-Christmas delivery..... And did I mention our wonderful range of festive coats..?

furbaby · 16/12/2013 23:18

Our local pet shop Town pets do a range called big and small .
They have gorgeous collers harness and leads all matching .
we visited at weekend to treat our darling pup called Blue to a beautiful blue leather coller and lead .
Matches his blue coat perfectly :)

Collar porn? A whole new world I had no idea about, and feel I am being lured into after posting a quite innocent question about buying a new one.

Damn you all!!

CMOTDibbler · 17/12/2013 09:49

That is luvverly Sebastian

needastrongone · 19/12/2013 10:31

I AM JUST LETTING YOU KNOW (IN CAPITALS), THAT I AM NOT AT ALL HAPPY WITH YOU GUYS FOR LEADING ME INTO TEMPTATION, ONE GLASS OF WINE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH LAST NIGHT AND THE DOG HAS A NEW COLLAR [SMILE]

CMOTDibbler · 19/12/2013 10:39

What did you get Grin

Cmotdog is rocking a skull and crossbones bandanna today and looking very cool

needastrongone · 19/12/2013 10:44

www.dogcollardesigns.co.uk/Fun-and-Funky.html

Design is 'on target', in blue. I am tempted for 'orange flower muddle' for the new puppy, a black Cocker.

I am considering many more, a whole new world of retail opportunity has opened up to me Smile

I liked the skull and crossbones design and a bandana sounds ace!

moosemama · 19/12/2013 11:05

Oops, that'll be my fault, sorry! Blush Lovely collar though and the orange would look fab on a black Cocker. Xmas Wink

Delivery can take a while from that site, but it's because she makes them all herself to order and I have to say the one we got Pip is really well made and still looks as good as new, despite being regularly caked in mud. I got one of the sewn in dog-tags put into his as well so he has that with the main/legally required details and this tag with his name and "I'm Chipped" on.

Flippin' dog needs yet another new coat now. He had a new one, two inches too big at the beginning of November and it's already too short for him. Trying to hang on until we've had December's pay day before I get one though, not least of all because I really want to get him a Milgi housecoat as well! Xmas Grin

needastrongone · 19/12/2013 11:45

Not too worried about the delivery time, that will stop the moaning from DH about the number of packets arriving at present, being Christmas. Ddog actually has a really lovely tartan collar at the moment, bought for a few quid from one of our equine shops, they often have some fab doggy related items, most folk with horses seem to have a dogs in tow and most equine shops have cottoned on to thisSmile.

I am not going for the coat option, not for a Springer!

Off to buy the orange one now Smile
