Perfect winter dog walking boots

My ten year old hunters have finally died and I need new boots. I'm told that hunters aren't very good any more and tbh I'd like something warmer anyway. They must be waterproof, have a good grip in the mud and be easy to get on and off.

Any ideas?

I have some black Aigle boots that grip well but not extra warm (very nice though) & some Berghaus walking boots with added fluffy inner soles. The boots are lace up so take time on & off but solid in the snow & cold

Search snow boots on amazon, there are some lovely ones on there!

I have neoprene aigles. Amazingly warm.

Muck boots are great and will keep your feet really warm.

I love my muck boots too for warmth and dryness

Thanks for starting this one. My yard boots - or rather one of them, the left - has developed a small leak. They've done four years of constant use (I dogwalk for my living, they're on my feet most of the year from 9 to 5, so I don't think they owe me anything). By muck boots do you mean yard boots/leather wellies?

Aigle neoprene lined wellies, amazingly warm, and because they are still made of natural rubber, incredibly comfy

with muck boots - they are a brand (I do horses and dogs) you want to be careful which ones you get - in the horsey world, complaints with some of being very sloppy. I think the derwents are the ones that are best - but i went with the aisles because they were so much more comfy

DH has the Muckboot Derwents, and I have the riding ones. They are so incredibly warm and comfy, and the tread on the Derwents is excellent. Today we were out in the mud from 10 till 3, and both had warm, dry, comfy feet all that time even when I was running in mud to keep up with ds and dpony

I came on to say Muck boots but everyone has beaten me to it!

Bought MuckMaster boots on Thursday morning. So far so very very good!

Tried on a pair of Aigles, but the Muckboots were actually more comfortable to walk in.

I got thermal walking boots from TKmaxx for about £20 last year and theyre AMAZING.

Do you have a farmers shop near you? (Where you can buy feed/fence posts/overalls and giant boxes of washing powder, that sort of shop). They normally have great boots for outdoor shenanigans. I bought a pair of Dublin River boots there and I am in love with them. They look lovely, are waterproof and come clean really easily and you can wear massive warm socks inside them. I realised I'd been looking in shoe shops ally life when my ideal shop sold tack.

I have some very similar to these thermal lined winter walking boots and they are brilliant for winter dog walking. Good grip, very warm, waterproof, much better support for feet than wellies or muck boots. Perfect for everything except walking through really deep mud.

I have also never regretted buying one of these boot jacks for removing boots after dog walking without getting my hands all muddy.

Look on ebay for 2nd hand ones - after all they're going to get muddy pretty quickly so I didn't mind slightly used ones. I got these Muck boots for £25 incl postage and there are loads of similar available.

I love Dubarrys - they keep my feet toasty warm but are definitely an investment.
