Georgianpup is de-flead with the (apparently controversial) advocate stuff. I applied his second lot the other day, on the correct day, following the instructions. The very next day I got bitten by a rogue flea. Little beggar bit me four times on my stomach. I have a dot-to-dot smile above my knicker elastic. Cheers, Flea.

So, are fleas more hardy than I imagined? Is Advocate less effective than imagined? Or was I just unlucky?

When humans get bitten the flea most commonly comes from the environment rather than the pet. I would suggest spraying the house.

It's biting you because it can't access the dog. Agree with Lonecat - you need to treat the whole house.

Oh bother. Where did it come from?!? Georgianpup is the only flea-bearing resident (apart from me, evidently). I'm coming over ignorant because I am. Sorry - new to all this.

'Attractive to fleas' - that's my new tagline. We've had dogs visit, so I guess it could have been a stray flea from one of them.
