Border Collie Pup

Going to see some Border Collie puppies tomorrow and I can't see a reason why we will not come home with one booked to arrive at the end of the month. I am beyond excited.

Our much loved springer died just after Christmas and we have decided that this is the perfect time to get a puppy. Someone will be at home most of the time and a friend has just moved close and is more than happy to fill in if we all have to be out.

We've had a border collie before so know what we're getting into. So looking forward to having a manic ball of black and white fluff. Smile

Squee!! 2 weeks to puppy-proof your house. Go go go!

LesserSpottedNeckSnake · 19/09/2013 14:54

Oh God. You're braver than me! Grin I love collies, but I don't think I could keep up with one. Have you got a name picked out?

Lifeisontheup · 19/09/2013 16:30

We can't decide on a name as don't know if it's a dog or a bitch. Kids want Luna for a girl and Sam/Ace/Jake for a boy.

Dog trainer organised (the same one we went to with both our other dogs) and house is reasonably puppy proof, dogs aren't allowed upstairs so that's ok. Last time I had a border collie puppy was 21 years ago when I was 7 months pregnant with my first baby so this time round it has to be easier.

Border collies are the best ever dogs. Had two in my life and they both live in my heart always.

He is a beauty!

Lifeisontheup · 20/09/2013 12:02

He is perfect. We met Mum and Dad and they were lovely friendly dogs. Mum is a working sheepdog but the owner doesn't work Dad as he got him when he was older and he had been bullied by his previous owner so when the sheep try and intimidate him he runs for home. He's an 'in front of the fire' dog as the farmer described him.

He's so cute!! I had a border collie as my dog when I was a kid, and he was perfect Grin Have fun with him!!

bassetfeet · 20/09/2013 17:47

A lovely puppy Grin . I would be counting his splodgy bits while cuddling !! So pleased you posted pics of Finn . Thank you .

Splodgy bits means [ in this house ] their spots of dark fur against the white . Nicest when counting on their plump puppy tummies.

He is gorgeous .

idirdog · 20/09/2013 19:46

What fantastic naughty spotsSmile He is a stunner.

Clean you house, get the freezer full you will be having too much fun with Finn soon to do any chores.

PickledMoomin · 20/09/2013 19:49

We have a blue merle Collie. She's five months and mental but is so much fun! Good luck! Wink

Lifeisontheup · 20/09/2013 21:39

He is the fluffiest, squidgiest bundle of loveliness and I can't wait until he gets home.

There has been a dog shaped hole in our house since just after Christmas and although he can't replace my lovely old girl he already has his own special place in our hearts.

Aww! Little Finn! Roll on Wednesday.

QuietTiger · 21/09/2013 12:05

Congratulations OP! We have 4 Collies (all workers) if you count DH's dog who just likes to look good on the quad bike and they are fab dogs. And as idirdog says, fantastic naughty spots! He is a bundle of loveliness. :)
