Do sterilised bitches bleed?

I've only ever had a male dog, and we're currently looking at getting a little girl, however really dumb question, but will she still get her periods if we have her stylised? I'm not sure I can handle doggy periods and think we should get a boy (DH would rather a female as our male had a tendency to try and hump DH's leg all the time )
