We recently had and sold our first litter of pups, bit of a learning curve but we were aware of the ups and downs of doing this. had an email from one of the buyers yesterday to say the pup has had an accident and needs an op. they are sorting out insurance etc.

I haven't stopped thinking about the pup all night thinking he must be in so much pain somewhere Sad. Please reassure me this wont be the case and the Vets will make the pup is comfortable even though the payment isn't quite sorted.....

Argh... Number of reasons, call for the rare breed of dog, good line. We took a lot of advice and didn't just do it on a whim.

We know insurance is very important which is why all the pups went away with four weeks free insurance to the buyers and stressed it was their responsibility to take out their own policies before it ran out. Just feel so sorry for the pup and I can't really do anything to help!

Hope pup will be OK. In my experience vets usually ask for money first (always with an emergency vet we've been asked for deposit/credit card before they'd treat the dogs). Has the insurance actually run out yet?

Update: pup is home safe and ok. Insurance ok in the end Thankfully.

just to add in case of any future problems, a vet will always give emergency pain relief free of charge if the owner has no money, so the pup wouldn't have been left in pain. glad its all sorted though, hope the pup is OK!
