Wee on mattress? And is my 7 month old becoming unclean?

Hello,

I'm so annoyed with my pup and myself!
He wouldn't go out tonight, I guess because of the rain, so whilst I was getting ready for bed he took it upon himself to wee on my bed, which soaked all the way through to the mattress. I've soaked up as much as I could, and have sprayed loads of carpet cleaner on it, and left it to dry out, spare room for me tonight!
What else can I do to clean it?

This is the third time this week he (nearly 8 months old) has wee'd in the house after being clean for a very long time. The first two times i blamed on my dh fault as it looked as if the dog had tried to ask to go out as the wee's were next to the door. This time was due to the rain. But am I making excuses and is he just being naughty?
What can I do?

I'm at my wits end tbh I've had a nightmare week with cats peeing randomly at home. I feel like I'm living in an old man urinal!!!

Biological washing powder will take away the smell (if you leave it it will encourage him to pee there again)

He's not being naughty, he's only 8 months. He's in his teenage years - when he acts so mature most of the time when he's cheeky it feels like he's doing it on purpose. But he wont be properly mature till he's 2 years old.

My dog's the same about the rain - you've just got to push them out. At that age I'd just throw some kibble out the door and encourage him to go eat it.

If your DH is missing the signals then it's DH who is being naughty. Dogs are often quite subtle about asking to go out, and for a dog this young, he is actually doing really well.

Steam cleaner may also be helpful, along with waterproof mattress protector for the next few months. Smile
