I am not allowed asnother cat since my neighbour would just nick it ike she has my last 2 rescue cats, I would like a whippet, my border terrier and cocker spaniel always get on with whippets and I just love them, but I have no idea what rescues to look at. Am mainly just looking and trying to convince dh at the moment but if we fell in love then who knows. TIA

Scruples would be quite a good place to start Grin

They are super little dogs but be warned, they are addictive Wink

I so want a whippet, but worry giant pup would squash it .....

Another vote for Scruples - they are excellent.

You can also try Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue - despite their name, they really are pretty much all lurcher and they often have the most adorable whippety lurchers you could imagine, many virtually indistinguishable from 100% whippys. Again, they are prepared to rehome nationally, and all their dogs are fostered before adoption which ensures a really detailed picture. I do some volunteering for them and regularly find myself wanting to kidnap some of the dogs I transport for them!

I also know a really lovely whippet X that a MNetter got from Celia Cross Greyhound Rescue - so keep an eye on the sighthound charities generally.

And yes, all sighthounds are incredibly addictive (gazes around at four - remembers dim past when we had one...) Grin

If I could adopt another dog (I already have a gorgeous whippety lurcher from EGLR), it would be Tally, and Whisper who is a whippety and only on their FB page atm

ditavonteesed · 12/09/2013 19:13

thats really funny, I was about to link to tally isnt she gorgeous, and the spaniel is golden and the terrier is red grissle (and I am a ginge) so she would fit right in.
