Anyone else told their puppies need 3 sets of vaccinations before going out?

I have just booked our 8 week old puppy into vets for 2nd nobbi vac vaccinations at 10 weeks. Receptionist said we would need a third set, two weeks later and only after third set would he be safe to go down on the ground in public places. So not down till 12 weeks. She said this was a recent change but was very important to stick to this advice. Obviously we will, but I wondered if anyone else had heard this. Is going to make socialisation much harder. Maybe the two sets haven't been enough in terms of immunity.

Two thoughts
Firstly was the puppy vaccinated itch a different brand for the first vacc so not actually completing a course itch the second vacc.
Secondly we are in a change over period with nobivac vaccines. This relates to the lepto portion by far and away the most common disease UK dogs encounter that we vaccinate for. The new lepto4 has to have a four week gap between first and second injection. So there are two ways of running the schedule 1st DHPL4 wait our weeks 2nd DHPL4 or 1st DHPL4 wait two weeks 2nd DHP wait two weeks 2nd L4. Finally to add into the mix some practices are midst switch over from L2 to L4 that makes it more complicated.
With adult dogs at their booster they need two injections of the L4 to be fully protected the vast majority of practices are doing this for free.
This new vaccine gives protection against 85% of the lepto strains compared to the old vaccines that protect against between 45 and 55% of strains. The disease can be picked up from rats urine so anywhere.

It must be the latter of your two points as the breeder and our vet use the same vaccines. So it sounds as though this way gives much better protection against lepto. Obviously we will prioritise health issues but I'm a bit worried that socialisation will be delayed as there isn't much we can do in our garden for four weeks, except invite a few dogs that we know well, round to play. But that will have to do. Puppy classes don't start till he's 16 weeks old, as there is a particular trainer I want to use, so I was hoping to get to local public areas as soon as possible.

Our vets had a puppy socialisation class which started after the first set of vacs - that might be worth trying. Also you can carry the pup around with you as long as they're kept off the ground. Do you know any vaccinated dogs the pup can be introduced to?

Thanks MissBee yes I know a few so can ask people round for a play. The puppy party at our vets is held for fully vacc puppies only.

That's so annoying - the socialisation window is so short! I took our new pup to as many places as possible during that time - but they do get heavier and more wriggly as time goes on. What breed do you have?
