...in the scruffiest dog Grin Grin

But oh my days, I will never again enter any of the pedigree classes...I made the mistake of thinking they mean it when they say 'fun dog show'! What a serious business it is Grin

Well done! I was supposed to be going to a 'fun dog show' today but couldn't make it :(

Toomuch2young · 01/09/2013 18:57

Brilliant, it's such good fun the novelty classes, I'm amazed at the anount of serious people that turn up to the fun shows! Well done. One of mine got a 'dog judge would most like to take home' when my niece took him in and he was shaking paws with the judge!

fanoftheinvisibleman · 01/09/2013 19:45

Bless at paw shaking! Grin

Yeah, we entered the open junior class too and were the only ones who weren't 'serious' so 4th out of 4 Grin

I couldn't believe the sight of dogs not being allowed off the towel they had to sit on for 2 hours whilst being spritzed and combed!

We shall enjoy the novelty classes and leave the 'fun' pedigree classes to the pros if we go again! The scruff loved it though!

We went to a fun dog show a couple of weeks ago, I entered my dog into the fastest/slowest recall competition. He won slowest recall, with over 14 seconds :o Blush

He's an ex racing Greyhound Blush

TheCunnyFunt · 01/09/2013 21:32

But well done at your 1st! It's a great feeling wheb your dog wins something isn't it? :)

Toomuch2young · 01/09/2013 22:57

That's brilliant! Love the ex racer being so slow!
And even better to have a beautiful dog like a greyhound. Wish people would stop racing them, they get such a rough deal on the track don't they. Yours is a lucky one to of found a lovely home.

At our 1st "fun" show our collie won 1st place in "dog with the waggiest tail" Grin

TheCunnyFunt · 02/09/2013 20:54

It was very embarrassing, picture the scene... A small crowd had gathered to watch the sleek, shiny black Greyhound, rocket up the enclosure, no doubt expecting his performance to be one to be reckoned with. I stood at one end and the lady took SSBG up to the other end, I call him enthusiastically and the lady lets him go and... He takes a leisurely trot towards me, even stops and has a wee halfway Hmm small crowd are now in stitches :(

Grin we saw a few hounds doung that routine at Dogs Unleashed earlier this summer!

My dog would just have bogged off to jump up at the spectators
