Why?

Why, when he has numerous, expensive, made for puppy, chewable things, does he insist on chewing......

The window sill

Hats

Shoes

Cat bowls

And at this very moment, a fish food pot, having eaten all the fish food.

Git.

And how do I persuade him to chew his own stuff rather than mine?

A collie cross we had was the worst chewer I've experienced first hand. She was 10 months when we got her. We got her on the 23rd Dec. On the 24th we creapt out to midnight mass leaving her in the kitchen as normal (for the 2nd night!) when we got back she'd opened a number of christmas presents that were in a basket on the kitchen counter (unusually high), She'd then wandered along, sampled an onion, several apples and the washing up brush, before letting herself out of the kitchen and eating a shoe.

She also managed to eat some herbal boiled sweets I had for a choir tour - unwrapping them first - and get sticky herbal syrup on her legs, which then got covered in savlon.

Another time she broke into the bathroom - everything got taken onto the landing in a single spot - shampoo (x2), conditioner, toothpaste, 3 toothbrushes topped off with some talcum powder.

'Interesting' chew options include kong toys stuffed with eg kibble and yoghurt then frozen...
