1 dog weed on the other

Training the dogs and we stopped for a break. As one squatted t'other shoved his snout under her then cocked his leg To wee on her.

Why would he do that? I've never seen it before and these two dogs have never had a problem. Am I over thinking this, does pissing on your room mate simply mean 'this training is fun, eh?' ?

My female dog wees over where she can sniff another dog's wee. I think it is a calling card or a dominance thing, depending on whether it is another female's or male's.
It could be that the male was a bit too hasty and she was a bit slow or he was claiming her as his own? How did she react?

topbannana · 25/08/2013 08:35

mine have always done it. The joys of dog ownership Hmm

MadeOfStarDust · 25/08/2013 08:39

mine stole the oven gloves yesterday, ran outside gleefully and weed on them.... dogs seem to like to "claim" things this way...

TheCunnyFunt · 25/08/2013 12:56

I believe this says it all...

I call marking 'pee mail'. I think dogs are worse than bitches I find my boy has to check every message, especially if it is early morning. Sometimes the dogs get a bit previous and end up weeing on the other dog, not just where they weed. Grin

Yes, they both mark territorio, but it's just that he seemed To be marking herHmm. Both are nuetered so it's nothing To do with mating. I'll look at that link a bit later, we're off out now.

Grin at the oven gloves, maybe that's code for 'give me roast lamb'

I've read on MN that a neutered female regularly humps a neutered male.

My female was spayed 4 weeks ago tomorrow. She still wees cocking her leg up and over where other dogs have weed. She has always been fussy with her choices and I wonder what her criteria is?Smile Sometimes she takes her time deciding and then eventually decides she is not interested in that one Grin

This seems to happen to my small dog on a regular basis. We used to meet a beautiful male collie that would always, without fail, try to pee on her; haven't seen him for a while, but it's happened with several other dogs, always males.

HotPanda · 26/08/2013 08:35

ShadowPup insists on shoving her nose wherever SpottyDod has weed. Sometimes she is too quick and he ends up weeing on her. All her fault, he was weeing first!

I have a smallish male dog (12.5 kg), and used to often come across a very large alsation on our daily walk.......
My dog, from the first meeting, laid flat on his back with legs in the air, and the Alsation would then piss on him.......

I think my dog rather liked it.......... Blush. Luckily our walk was by the sea, so straight into the water after for a good wash!!

BTW, they were very friendly towards each other so I don't think mine was afraid of the huge dog!

Thanks for the reassurances, I'd never seen a dog wee directly on another despite all of mine regularly ramming their noses right under each other. He didn't piss on her today. He waited until OH had them in the kitchen after training and pissed on the ironed shirtsAngry his saving grace, OH's rather than the dog, was the fact that I didn't iron them.
