Dogs legs covered in ticks

My dog had a walk on the Downs through long grass where sheep graze and now her lower legs are covered in ticks (Black bugs that pop when squeezed and ooze blood). I have now given her a flea tablet, flea spot on and sprayed her legs with flea and tick treatment.

Anything else I should do?

PenisDog had his first ever tick on Friday.
I phoned the vet because I was a tick virgin.
They told me to bring him to the surgery. They showed me how to remove it, told me what to look for, answered any questions i had, gave me the tick removal device and didn't charge me a penny
