I think that's a lovely idea about his soul coming back in your new boy.

My old boy (minature schnauzer) was like this as a puppy, so good and fully toilet trained in two weeks. He's so gentle and good and I can't stand the thought that he's 11 now. He's still going strong but I know that sometimes it happens quickly at the end and I don't know how we will manage without him. I've heard they can live till 17 but someone I spoke to the other day says his lived till 13 and 15 respectively. My boy has a slight heart murmur as well.

furbaby · 11/08/2013 17:43

He is called Blue ok not very original but we have called him Atomic Blue Bear as his kennel club name .
He is so lovely and such a good boy .
I googled him and they are beautiful dogs :)
I do hope he gives you lots of happiness .
Our pup has had a busy day with daughter visiting with her staffy pup , he has been asleep since they left at 3 .
Bless him he does tire easily .
He has his jabs next week , then 2nd jabs and micro chip , poor boy I won, t tell him whats coming up .
Mind you he could, nt have more lovex

Oh sparkly I do hope he lives forever ......
I still can, t believe we lost our old boy , I would sell my soul for more time with our special old boy :)
He was our life and when we lost him life just changed for the worse x
But hoping Blue will make our lives complete again x

Hi furbaby Smile

So glad you have your new blue boy home and he sounds like an absolute sweetheart. I love your idea about their being a connection. To be honest, I often feel there's some of my old boxer x boy in Lurcherboy ... just some of the things he does that remind me of my old boy.

We brought our new boy home this weekend as well. He's a teeny blue fawn rescue lurcher pup and is such a sweetheart.

Lurcherboy is slowly starting to accept that the pup is here for keeps after spending the first day doing the whole 'What pup? I can't see a pup.' thing and refusing to even acknowledge his presence. Grin We brought him home on Friday and they've just started playing together properly today, which is so lovely to see after Lurcherboy mourned so badly for Oldgirl.

In fact, they are currently both absolutely spark out beside me, having worn each other out chasing round and round the garden all day. Smile

He's not quite as good as your boy with housetraining, but he's doing pretty well and has decided the puppy pad just inside the back-door is the place to go when he's not outside - although 99% of toiletting has been done outside, which has reinforced our decision to get a pup now, rather than wait until the dcs go back to school. I've spent so much time in the garden with him, I'm really glad it's August and not October.

moosemama · 11/08/2013 20:30

Just read everlong's post. Sounds like both our oldies decided to handle their interlopers in the same way - ignore and hope he goes away, then when it doesn't slowly decide perhaps he's not so bad after all. Grin
