I posted about this on a previous thread, but starting a new one as am hugely upset about it.
Apparently there was an anonymous call saying my two dogs and one cat are neglected. They are thin, the dogs live outside with no water and are never walked.

I thought the SSPCA officer had stopped for directions, but no she was coming to check on my animals :)

My cat is huge, I just handed him to her and she said "there is nothing thin about this one then, he's beautiful"

I opened the kitchen door and let the dogs through, she commented that you could feel my GSDs spine slightly...erm your supposed to aren't you?

And that the irish setter was very lean (he's an 11 month old puppy) and he has an eye infection...no, he has hayfever actually.

Se had a look outside, saw there were full water bowls and asked where the dogs went for shelter, I explained that we got rid of old kennel and shed while doing up the garden and haven't quite got round to building the new one yet ( waiting on payday to buy the roofing) she could see there was wood there ready to get it built.
And anyway, they don't LIVE outside.

The officer seemed to be happy enough with what she seen/heard and said she'd phone me in a couple of months to see if the shelter had been built.

I know for a fact that my animals are cared for, but I feel awful thinking that someone has looked at them and thought neglect. I think It must be someone in my street as my cat doesn't really venture past the street.

Our you best dog is a skinny Minnie, he's just made that way and gets lots of exercise.

Bollocks to whoever reported you. Hmm

Not planning to confront her, just a cheery wave as i walk by with my dogs :)
And buying a rust bucket of a car, SORNing it and leaving it in her preferred parking space Grin

Apologies as this is an old topic but I wanted to add my experiences in here.
Had the same experience with a next door neighbour who took it upon himself to trespass upon my unfenced garden and look at my dog and kennel.
Lo behold, early one morning I get SSPCA visit. Lady officer already went to check the dog and then knocked on my door. Very pleasant lady and very Satisfied with my staffy and kennel.
Kennel was fully insulated with heat lamp on a thermostat. Full pvc lining. Water bowls always full. I work nights so I come in at 6 am, walk dog for 3 miles then place her in kennel till I sleep.
Another complaint was made again but this time the officer was a tad rude.
My little boy was now also being asked by school friends "do you hit your dog"..seeing that a big SSPCA can always parked right outside my door whenever they visited.

One letter from my solicitor and one stern phone call from me out an end to the visits pronto. I am a very pleasant person but this was taking the mickey.
I only found out several years later after the same neighbour mistakingly shouted ' that's why I reported you '...after an argument over my new fence, to keep him out and away from staring into my ground floor windows looking at me and my kids.

For the best part, I am an animal lover and I support the SSPCA and their work but disgusting people have disgusting habits, and most will pick up the phone to embarrass and inconvenience you.
Nothing wrong with dogs outdoors so long as it's secure, comfortable and warm if the weather turns cold.
Cheers.

Sorry you're having neighbour issues. I had a complaint made to the council about my garage from a neighbour that I made a (valid) noise complaint about. Council worker found nothing wrong with the garage and said they get 'tit for tat' complaints all the time.nice to know my rates get used for such childish behaviour.
