Superpup has gone

Diagnosed with advanced stage V lymphoma at only 15 months. We got him home this afternoon and spent a lovely 3.5 hours with him.

It felt like we were breaking him out of vet hospital. He was so excited to see us and his tail nearly wagged right off when he realised he was coming home

He saw all his favourite people in his last few hours- his dog walker, a friend, me and DH and the kids. He was put to sleep with his head resting on my knee whilst I fed him bits of chicken Just a little sigh, I nearly missed it.

I feel at peace with it but devastated all the same. He was so young, had only just begun and we'd only just started to get to know him. He was a lovely, placid, chilled out, loving dog and we're lucky to have had him in our lives even if it was for only a year.

RIP superpup, chasing balls in doggie heaven.

So sorry Rosie, how heartbreaking for you. I'm so glad you had such a lovely last day with him.

How sad for you. :( It sounds like his final hours were lovely, I am glad he was able to have that time with you. He was well-loved in his short little life, it is much more than many dogs have so he was lucky to have you.

I hope today is not too hard for you.

I'm so sorry. He was obviously much loved and you did the right thing for him even though it may have not been what you wanted. That's what good owners do.

Have just read your other thread; you did the right thing. So upsetting though. Hope your children are taking it as well as can be expected as well.
