. It showed up on and X-ray yesterday when we had her checked for something else. She is obviously in pain eating and the barbed fish hook is stuck in her oesophagus. I have been referred to a specialist vet who deals with this kind of operation but have already been told that it is unlikely that the hook can be removed by endoscopy because of the position so we are possibly talking pretty major surgery
I have done lots of Googling (stupid, I know) but keep coming up with stories where the dog had to be PTS or died during the op. Our dog is only three and is the sweetest dog imaginable and a very much loved member of our family.
Any positive stories please? We go to see the new vet today and surgery is provisionally booked for tomorrow morning. We are so very worried.
