Bit sneezy and snotty

I've got a 10 month old labrador retriever, over the last couple of weeks, he's been sneezing a bit - might do 2 or 3 in a row, then nothing for a few hours, then another little sneezes fit.

Sometimes a lot of snot comes out, other times nothing. I'm pretty sure when the snot does come, it's both nostrils (but it can be hard to tell as it's often a bit of an explosion!). He probably snots like this once or twice a day.

Last week he was also coughing after strenuous activity - nothing too bad, just the odd cough, but that seems to have stopped.

He doesn't seem in any particular discomfort, other than the expected side effects of the heat (sleeping a lot more etc) - particularly as he is black.

I don't know whether he has something stuck up his nose, has cold/virus or even an allergy.

Do you think I should take him to the vet? Or keep monitoring and only take him to the vet if he seems to be in discomfort? I'm just a bit concerned that he is still sneezing and sometimes snotty (albeit only a few times a day) after a couple of weeks.
